Terra Branford is an 18 year old elven woman orphaned in Far Reach at the age of 6. She was raised by an old merchant marine who literally took her in off of the street. She never talks about how her parents died and loves her adopted father. Her mother was a powerful witch, and her father was a monk of no influence or importance.

In public, she is a competent staff fighter. Not amazing, but a match for most studied in martial combat. In private she is actually a hex-crafter. She is capable of using a limited array of magic as well as being formidable in melee. She desperately tries to keep her arcane abilities a secret and over time has become quite a fast talker.

In public, her combat tactics are sound and straigh-forward. Hit it with her stick until it stops fighting back. She is too intelligent to charge into batle blindly though and will used ranged or splash weapons where appropriate. Even here, she can make liberal use of her arcane accuracy, boosting her odds to hit without any obvious display of magical powerl.

When not in the public eye she is significantly more dangerous. During a full attack, she can also use a single spell. When using a touch spell, she can channel it through her weapon for a second, free attack that deals both the spell damage and effects as well as the weapon. If she chooses to cast a non-touch spell in her off hand she gets a single attack and the spell effect. Her particular favorite tactic is to use magic missile and toppling spell with her off-hand, then make her regular attack with her quarterstaff (one-handed) one her prone target.

When facing stronger opponents she’ll soften them at range as much as possible and hex them with Evil Eye before closing the distance.

She first met Aloutte in Far Reach when she came with her mothers to do the regular sale of the blue gills. She and her sister were being bullied by some older kids because they looked like demons. Terra came to their “rescue” and became fast friends with Aloutte.

She actually found Aloutte remarkably attractive and went out of her way to spend as much time as possible with her every time she came to Far Reach. Terra was never attracted to the boys in town, but it could be just a childhood crush. But as it stands Terra is infatuated with Aloutte and would do almost anything for her. They write many letters to each other and send them on abiding ships back and forth in-between runs to Far Reach that allow civilian crew.

For her part, Aloutte is genuinely receptive to her advances. She finds Terra interesting and she falls into a special category of attractive. Aloutte knows from her mother that even two females can have a loving family together and isn’t bothered in the slightest at the uncommon nature of the possible pairing.

Whatever may have been childish infatuation is quickly blooming into an honest love. Terra and Aloutte have recently entered into a serious partnership and are growing together quickly. The chances of it not fully blossoming into a life-long commitment are quickly shrinking into obscurity.
